What if discovering experiences was effortless?
In a city full of possibilities, discovering the right events and communities can feel overwhelming, and showing up alone often feels uncertain. Degen removes that friction, making it easier, safer, and more natural to show up and connect.
Goal
My focus was to transform urban chaos into intentional connection by creating visuals that embody the energetic, immersive experience.
Browse & Navigate
Discovery tab helps users explore events. The interface surfaces key logistics, context, and event details so users can orient themselves quickly and feel confident about attending.
Mingle
Designed for use during the event, Mingle automatically matches users with a compatible attendee who is also present at the same event, enabling spontaneous and low-friction connections.
Link-up(Sending requests)
Link-Up supports intentional social planning by helping users connect with compatible attendees based on shared interests and preferences. Users browse and send Link-Up requests to people they would like to meet.
Link-up(Accepting request)
Once a user accepts a link-up request, they can chat with their match and navigate to each other through a map interface that shows their proximity.

Degen's Illustrative system visualizes the brand as a navigable social ecosystem. Five interconnected zones represent different modes of urban life, with rat characters acting as stand-ins for real users.

Takeaway
Degen was a deeply hands-on, end-to-end product experience with my role focused on UI and visual system design. Collaborating closely with another UX/UI designer helped me understand how research informed interface decisions, while building detailed design guidelines reinforced the importance of clarity and scalability.
